Computer and Technology

I cannot log into my computer.

  • If the computer is locked because someone else is logged in, choose Switch User and login as yourself. If you do not see a Switch User option, turn off the computer by holding the power button for several seconds. Press the power button again to start the computer.
  • If your NetID and password do not work, locate a public Mac computer outside the reception area on floors 4 or 5 and reset your password at start.nyu.edu.
  • If resetting your password does not work, contact the Gallatin Helpdesk at 212.998.9157 or gallatin.helpdesk@nyu.edu.

I need help with classroom technology.

  • For time-sensitive Gallatin classroom assistance before 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, visit the reception desk on the same floor as your classroom or call 212.998.9157.
  • For time-sensitive Gallatin classroom assistance after 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, visit the classroom technology student workers at the 5th floor reception desk or call 212.998.9157.
  • For Gallatin classroom assistance on Saturdays, visit the 4th floor reception desk.

These are loaned for special projects only and you must send an e-mail to gallatin.helpdesk@nyu.edu at least two business days in advance of the date needed. The e-mail must include the first and last name of the student borrowing the equipment and the exact start and end dates of the loan.

My student needs to borrow a Gallatin camera.

  • For short-term loans of a Gallatin projector or laptop contact the Gallatin Helpdesk at 212.998.9157 or gallatin.helpdesk@nyu.edu.
  • To borrow an adapter visit the 8th floor reception desk, preferably with the laptop you will use with the adapter.
  • To borrow a video camera contact a member of Faculty Affairs at (212) 992-7768.

  • The ePortfolio is meant to be a place for students to thoughtfully record their academic career as they develop their concentration. It will help students to write their IAPC and complete their colloquium in collaboration with their adviser, with whom it can be shared.

Space and Facilities

I need to reserve Gallatin space.

My ID card does not let me swipe into the building/room/office.
