Terecille Basa-Ong (BA '07) Gallatin’s Associate Director of Alumni Relations and Engagement, has always had a keen interest in alumni engagement, both in on- and off-site events, as well as managing the online branding of educational institutions, particularly social media. Terecille earned her BA at Gallatin, concentrating in Creative Writing and Fine Arts (her colloquium: “Art, Identity, Cities, and Living in the Italian Renaissance”). She landed her first job at The Record, a daily newspaper in northern New Jersey, as an editorial assistant prior to working for the NYC-based educational non-profit Prep for Prep. For the past seven years, Terecille was a Communications Associate, first at her high school alma mater, the Dwight-Englewood School in NJ, and then most recently at the Nightingale-Bamford School, an all-girls’ K-12 school on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. A communications expert, she has written alumni spotlights for school magazines and worked on school annual reports. She was also the photographer for day and evening school events and functions. Since graduating, she has volunteered as a class rep and Alumni Relations Committee member at Dwight-Englewood; as a Torchbearer and admissions representative for NYU’s Office of Admissions; and at various sporting events, including the Super Bowl in 2014, the US Open, and the NYC Marathon.
