Benjamin is currently studying abroad in China for the spring semester. He is from Massachusetts originally, but his family moved to Harlem iin the fall of 2011. Benjamin transferred to Gallatin is his sophomore year because he believes in well-roundedness, and wanted to study biology, math, computer science, philosophy, and some music on the side. Ultimately, he is interested in the way that biotechnology evolves, affects the US healthcare and legal system, and shapes the future of developing nations. Benjamin is also interested in how big data analysis is advancing biological research, and he worked in Richard Bonneau's bioinformatics lab for a semester last year to enrich his knowledge of this field.
Additionally, Benjamin likes to sing, play guitar and percussion, and he’s a member of Zeta Beta Tau fraternity. Benjamin plans to graduate early (at the end of the summer), and he’s considering business school, law school or trying to work for a biotech investment group. Benjamin considers himself entrepreneurial, and he is thinking about creating or joining a tech startup in the city.
