Toniann Fernandez is studying the intersections between film and philosophy here at NYU. Thus far this semester, her favorite class is the fascinating Alchemy and the Transformation of Self being taught by Lee Robbins, which “explores the breadth and depth of the human psyche as it moves toward greater degrees of consciousness of self and world”. Toniann has a variety of interests: she just wrote a children’s book (which she’s attempting to get published), loves movies (her favorite is NAKED directed by Mike Leigh), and field hockey (she played field hockey in high school and misses the game so she hopes there might be other NYU students interested in getting something started!). In addition to her academic pursuits and leisure interests, Toniann also works at the Roebling Tea Room.
Toniann is currently looking into graduate study in film at USC and UCLA.
She lives in NYC’s best borough: Brooklyn.
