Donna Goodman is a licensed practicing architect. Her firm has renovated lofts, townhouses and waterfront sites based on green principles. She has also created drawings of a conceptual future city through grants from the Graham Foundation, New York State Council of the Arts and the J.M. Kaplan Fund. Her designs include environmental concepts, media and cybernetic systems, infrastructure and resources. Her projects have been shown in museums and galleries and published in ArtForum , Metropolis , The Harvard Architecture Review , World Architecture and Green Architecture . She has taught at several universities and lectured on her work at Harvard, MIT, Columbia, the American Macroengineering Society and the United Nations conferences on cities. She has also written articles on design and worked on several films, including a dialogue with Buckminster Fuller. Her book, A History of the Future , traces the history of visionary ideas from the Renaissance to the present and explores the impact of each technological era on design and the environment. Her courses include arts workshops on architecture, urban planning, green design and visionary concepts in film. She is a registered architect, with professional associations with AIA, American Macroengineering Society, Storefront for Art & Architecture, Riverkeeper and Engineers Without Borders.
