Jean Gallagher is a Professor of English at Polytechnic Institute of NYU. She is the author of three collections of poetry ( This Minute , which received the Poets Out Loud Prize from Fordham University Press), Stubborn (winner of the FIELD Prize from Oberlin College Press), and Start , just out from Oberlin College Press. She also is the author of The World Wars through the Female Gaze  (Southern Illinois UP), and has published critical essays on gender, modernist literature, and visual culture.
