Luke Mitchell is the deputy editor of Popular Science . From 2002 to 2010, he was a senior editor of Harper’s Magazine.  He is a fellow of the New York Institute of the Humanities and has written for, among other publications, the New York Times , the Washington Post , and Bass Player Magazine .
