Rose-Ellen Lessy completed her PhD in English at Cornell University and then held a Visiting Professorship at the University of West Florida. She has published essays and reviews on the work of Todd Haynes, Charlotte Perkins Gilman, and Rita Dove. She is at work on a book project that explores rhetorics of bad air in gender and disability theory and contemporary film. She has taught at Cornell, Columbia, and the New School, and her course offerings have included "Complicating Bodies," "Undoing Gender," "The Art of Disaster," and "Narratives of Reform."
