Dr. Weisser specializes in 19th-century literature and women's Studies. Her research has centered on women, sexuality, and romantic love in 19th-century literature and popular Culture. Other research and teaching interests include autobiographical writing. Weisser is the author of A Craving Vacancy: Women and Sexual Love in the British Novel , and editor of two collections: Feminist Nightmares: Women at Odds and Women and Romance: A Reader . In addition, she has written the introduction and notes for editions of Jane Austen's Persuasion , Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre , and D.H. Lawrence's Lady Chatterley's Lover . She has moderated many book clubs online for Barnes and Noble's website, spoken on "Jane Eyre and Feminism" at Barnes and Noble, and given the keynote address for the Bronte Society. Weisser is currently working on a project about feminism and romantic love in society.
