Tahneer Oksman

Tahneer Oksman is currently a doctoral candidate at CUNY’s Graduate Center, writing a dissertation on contemporary comics by women. She recently received a Blanksteen Fellowship in Jewish Studies from the Graduate Center, as well as a research award from the Hadassah-Brandeis Institute. Tahneer’s essays, which address interactions of the visual and verbal, have been published in various academic journals, including A/B: Auto/Biography Studies and Studies in Comics. Tahneer has taught writing at Brooklyn College, and currently serves as a co-coordinator of the Writing Across the Curriculum program there.
