How Will Continuing Students be Affected by the New Degree Requirements?
Gallatin has introduced revised degree requirements for students entering the program in Summer 2013 and later. Continuing students will not be subject to the new requirements. But depending on when you started the program and what requirements you have completed, you may be impacted by the changes.
If you will defend by Spring 2014, you will not be affected. If you plan to defend in Summer 2014 or later, you may be affected.

1. What is Changing?
Learn about the changes to the Core courses that Gallatin will introduce as part of the revised curriculum.
2. How Can I Use New Core Courses to Complete My Requirements?
Consult a chart that shows course equivalencies for students who are combining Core courses from the old requirements and the new requirements. All students must complete a minimum of 14 credits in Gallatin courses, but you may combine Core courses from the old curriculum with courses from the new curriculum.
3. When Will New Core Courses be Offered?
See when former Core courses will be phased out and when new Core courses will be introduced. Note that you will need to consult this chart when completing the planning worksheet.
4. Planning Worksheet
Complete this planning worksheet to determine how you will meet your Core course requirements. Please remember that all students must complete 14 Gallatin credits as part of the 40 credits required for the M.A. degree.
