All incoming Gallatin graduate students should plan to attend an orientation session prior to the start of the academic year. Orientation sessions are scheduled periodically, beginning in late spring for students enrolling in the fall, and in December and January for students beginning in the spring. We also hold an orientation in the days before classes begin in September, as well as in January.

At Orientation you will meet other entering Gallatin graduate students and Gallatin faculty members and learn about the NYU registration process.

As a Gallatin student, you will find that you will spend much of your time at NYU exploring courses offered by other schools at NYU. Orientation is an opportunity to find out how to navigate the system and to assist you in making choices that will contribute to your academic objectives and long-term plans.

Please note: The Gallatin Graduate Orientation is for students who have been admitted to the Gallatin School. If you are a prospective student (rather than an admitted student) who wishes to learn more about Gallatin, we invite you to attend an Information Session. The schedule can be found here.
