We believe that you should be able to choose a college that offers you the best range of educational opportunities. However, the cost of a college education is an important factor in decision-making for many families. When determining your college expenses, you should consider the cost of tuition, fees, books, meals, supplies and housing--will you be living in a dormitory or will you be commuting to school from home?
NYU Financial Aid
If you believe you will need financial assistance to enable you to attend NYU Gallatin, we strongly encourage you to apply for financial aid. You must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form in order to be considered for need-based aid at NYU. Please note that no special applications are required for NYU and Gallatin merit scholarships. All qualified applicants are automatically considered. For information on the types of scholarships available to NYU undergraduate students, see the NYU Office of Admissions.
Your decision to apply for financial aid will have no bearing on the admissions decision, and many Gallatin students receive some form of financial aid. To learn more, or to apply for financial aid, see the NYU Office of Admissions.
Other Sources of Aid
In addition to applying for financial aid from NYU, we also strongly suggest that students with financial need explore scholarship funding from outside organizations. There are many free scholarship search services that can assist you. See “Scholarship Search Services” for more information. You should never pay for scholarship search services—the free resources available are extensive.
