Movie producer and Gallatin alum Richard Suckle (BA ’91) is now a Golden Globe winner for American Hustle, the recent screwball send-up of the Abscam scandal from the ‘70s and ‘80s. The film dominated the category of Musical or Comedy, collecting Globes for Motion Picture as well as for Best Actress (Amy Adams) and Supporting Actress (Jennifer Lawrence).

Suckle now carries the momentum of his triumph at the Globes into the Academy Awards. American Hustle’s ensemble cast and crew has received Oscar nominations in all the major categories, including: Best Picture, Director (David O. Russell), Actor (Christian Bale), Actress (Amy Adams), Supporting Actor (Bradley Cooper), Supporting Actress (Jennifer Lawrence), and Original Screenplay (Eric Warren Singer and David O. Russell). The 86th Academy Awards will be held on Sunday, March 2nd in Hollywood, California.
