In Fall 2015, Gallatin, with the support of the NYU Provost and NYU Global Research Initiative, launched the Gallatin Global Faculty-in-Residence Program. Each year, the School will host several visiting faculty members who will share their international perspectives on pressing social, political, and intellectual issues. The Gallatin Global Faculty-in-Residence Program follows one of the guiding principles of Gallatin’s academic philosophy: that deep intellectual inquiry benefits from a global perspective. Since 2024, Global Faculty in Residence has been designated as Taki Visiting Global Professors.
The program seeks to bring to Gallatin individuals who will have a strong intellectual and curricular impact. Renowned scholars, artists, public intellectuals, political figures, and other practitioners from various academic and professional fields and geographic regions will come to the School and be in residence for up to seven weeks. The visiting faculty will partake in public events, interact with students and faculty at Gallatin and across NYU, and share their work through seminars, workshops, or short-term courses or tutorials.
