Recent graduates, as well as alumni pursuing advanced degrees and those well established in their careers, have completed surveys that can help inform prospective students and their families about the value of an NYU Gallatin education. The post-graduation experience is unique for each student; you can hear directly from our alumni below on their thoughts on how they were prepared and set up for success.
A Times Higher Education survey on graduate employability in the US, ranked by employers, put NYU at No. 1. In addition to being named the top university by employers on student employability, the site praises the NYU Wasserman Center for Career Development for its support of students at every step of their career development:
A report by Professor David Stasavage considered NYU along with 1,048 other institutions of higher education that have annual cohorts in excess of 500 students. Stasavage calculated the percent whose earnings were in the top 1% of income distribution whose parents were in the bottom 5th income distribution. Here NYU ranked 7th nationally, meaning both employability and mobility for students from lower income backgrounds are very high at NYU.
"The Wasserman Center connects with employers to ensure that their needs are met by the right students. Even after graduation, alumni can meet with career coaches, attend workshops, and use the University’s job search service. Employers often work directly with university clubs to help prepare students to apply the same skills in the workplace."
Conducted by NYU Wasserman Center for Career Development, the survey found that:
At Gallatin, my education was exciting, engaging, and fun. I was fortunate to be in a school that truly allowed me to pursue my passion."
A comprehensive Gallatin Alumni Survey was conducted with alumni around the world. Alumni were contacted and asked about their time at Gallatin and their current work. Participants included recent graduates as well as alumni in mid- to advanced-career levels.

I wish people knew that Gallatin is a rare and special space within NYU. It’s intimate, with its own style and a family vibe. That is rare and precious within a huge university in an enormous city.
