Brendan Matz is a historian of science and technology based in Brooklyn, NY.  He is currently working on a book called Crafting Heredity, which is a comparative history of animal breeding and mammalian genetics in Germany and the United States between 1860 and 1929.  His teaching and research interests include the history of heredity, genetics, and biotechnology, eugenics and race, nutrition science, and neuroscience.  He has taught at Yale, Brooklyn College, and NYU-Poly.
