NYU will open the campus and offer a full complement of events to alumni on Saturday, November 8, 2014 for the 2014 NYU Alumni Day. In tandem with Alumni Day, Gallatin and NYU welcome the parents of new freshmen and transfer students, as well as our parents of students transitioning from abroad sites, to Parents Day 2014.
Gallatin will host four of the Alumni Day events: The Classics Tour of the Lower East Side & the Bowery with Gabe Shoenberg (BA '11); Gallatin Dean’s Luncheon, America Ahead: A Talk with David Burstein (BA ’12); Give the Crowd a Seat at the Table, A Talk by Ivan Askwith (BA ’03); and the evening performance of the all-female production of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, which is part of the fall Roman Tragedies Festival. A full Alumni Day schedule is available; alumni can register on the Alumni Day site.
For Parents Day, Gallatin parents are encouraged to gather in the morning for a continental breakfast at 1 Washington Place at 9:30 am. Starting at 10:00 am, Dean Susanne L. Wofford and members of the Gallatin community -- administrators, faculty, and students -- will discuss advising, the first-year student experience, individualized study, and answer parents' questions. Parents may also select from one of our afternoon lectures or presentations, and enjoy an all-female staging of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar in the evening. A full Parents Day schedule is available.
Gallatin is pleased to welcome the greater Gallatin and NYU community to campus!
