Invitations
Invitations to participate in NYU Commencement and Gallatin Graduation are extended to all graduates and degree candidates for degrees for the 2012-2013 academic year (September 2012, January 2013 and May 2013). Candidates for May degrees are identified as those who have applied for graduation via Albert by the Registrar's Office deadline falling early in the Spring 2013 semester.
Students will receive the NYU Commencement invitation during the first week of April. The invitation to the Gallatin Graduation will arrive soon thereafter.
Note: Be certain to update your address on Albert. If you have not received the Commencement invitation by the second week in April, you should verify your address with the Office of the University Registrar at 25 West 4th Street. If your invitation was sent to an incorrect address, you may request a replacement. Otherwise, you may be directed to contact the Department of Degree Audit at (212) 998-4260.
Undergraduate Student Petitions to March
- September 2013 degree candidates may request to participate in the May 2013 NYU Commencement and Gallatin Graduation ceremonies, if they meet the criteria detailed on the "Applying to Graduate" page. The Petition form must be submitted no later than April 15th . Questions regarding petitions should be directed to Senior Class Adviser, Meredith Theeman.
Graduate Student Petitions to March
- September 2013 degree candidates may request to participate in the May 2013 NYU Commencement and Gallatin Graduation ceremonies if they meet the criteria detailed on the Applying to Graduate page. The Petition form must be submitted no later than April 15th . Questions regarding petitions should be directed to Amy Spellacy, Administrative Director of the M.A. program.
- The Defense must be scheduled to occur before the September 2013 deadline set by the Office of the Registrar.
- Students also must update their expected date of graduation on Albert to September 2013.
- Candidates who will not complete their degree requirements and defend the thesis by the September 2013 diploma deadline may not petition to attend the May 2013 ceremonies. They will be invited to march in the May 2014 Ceremonies
