Sonja Harpstead

Sonja Harpstead is studying the circus, and how learning circus skill changes the student as well as the teacher. “I like Gallatin because it surrounds me with people who look at academic fields differently,” she says. “They approach each class in a way that goes beyond the standard theories.” In that vein, Harpstead says she would like to apply standard academic theories to unusual situations and to explore circus as a theory.
