Rosetta Young transferred to Gallatin to study English literature, critical theory and creative writing. She was a research assistant in NYU’s English Department and the prose editor of West 10th, the creative writing program’s literary magazine. She was also a member of the Gallatin Dean’s Honor Society and an intern at Farrar, Straus and Giroux, Random House and at the NYU Creative Writing Program, where she worked on the readings series, which had an event every Thursday and Friday night. She worked at Bookish.com, a new Web site that covers book releases and book-related news. “I like how Gallatin opens all the resources of NYU to its students,” said Young, who plans to pursue a Ph.D. in English literature. “At such a large university, there are endless combinations that can be made, and I’ve been able to create a curriculum from many different departments and programs.”
