OFF THE GRID: Tours & Talks on NYC’s New Public Spaces
All over the city public spaces are going above, below, and diagonally through the city’s strict configuration of streets and avenues. Recent design projects like the High Line, Lowline and Hudson Yards are disregarding Manhattan’s ubiquitous street grid. For a two-week long string of tours and talks, the Gallatin Design Collective hosts designers and docents to discuss the latest trends in public space design.
Picnic with the Gallatin Design Collective in the Trump Tower lobby and learn about NYC’s peculiar Privately Owned Public Spaces. These complex spaces were made famous by the Occupy movement and Zucotti Park. Join us for good food and the chance to see one of the city's most infamous privately-owned public spaces: Trump Tower.
