Suddenly Something Recklessly Gay  
A Two-Day Event Celebrating the Work of Iranian Theater and Visual Artist Assurbanipal Babilla 

Opening Reception: Feb 17: 6- 8 PM

Exhibition Hours: Feb 17: 5 PM- 9 PM &  Feb 18: 10 AM- 6 PM
Panel Discussion: Feb 18: 2- 4 PM

An opening reception, featuring a special performance by Susan Deyhim, will be held on Friday, February 17 at 6 PM. The art will remain on display through Saturday, February 18.

The exhibition will present 39 works of art by Assurbanipal Babilla (1944–2011), Iranian theater and visual artist. These works, curated by Leyla Ebtehadj and Mariam Touzie, represent the dominant styles in Babilla’s art following his immigration to the United States in 1980 after the Iranian Revolution.

On Saturday February 18, a panel of Babilla's theater collaborators will discuss his life and stage work and read excerpts from his plays.
