Alumni Skillshare: Teach for Yourself - Get out of the Conventional Classroom!

Mar 26, 2014 | 7:00 PM-8:00 PM

Alumni Skillshare

Join in this new series that brings young alumni back to the School to offer knowledge and real-world advice to current students.

There are a multitude of teaching/tutoring work opportunities available to awesome people like yourselves in NYC and around the world. Becoming an educator can be a stepping stone in the pursuit of other interests, can supplement income while working in a different industry, or can be followed into a full-fledged career.

Concentrating in Consciousness Studies, Drew Knight Weller (BA '08) began working as a teacher's assistant in a 1st grade classroom in Brooklyn through the America Reads program at NYU. Learn how his Gallatin experience has led him to teach and tutor elementary school, middle school, high school, college, and graduate school students in England, Thailand, and New York.

Refreshments will be served.
