Originally from Georgia, Andrea comes to Gallatin after working as an instructor, tutor, and communicator at various universities, including Valdosta State University, Georgia State University, Emory University, Agnes Scott College, Georgia Tech, and Fairleigh Dickinson University. For over a decade, she taught English Composition, Literature, Business Writing, and Poetry. She began to delve further into communications work while serving as a Marion L. Brittain Postdoctoral Fellow at Georgia Tech; there, she worked as a communicator for both the Office of Information Technology and the Global Change Program. Andrea is a Pushcart Prize-nominated poet and a musician; her band, Night Driving in Small Towns, has been featured by NPR and Rolling Stone.
