Joshua Garcia

Josh Garcia is a native New Yorker who was born and raised in the Bronx. As Assistant Director of Human Resources, Josh manages the day-to-day HR/payroll operations for Gallatin. ​He directs full-time faculty searches, administers Gallatin’s adviser payment process,​ assists with investigating and resolving complex payroll issues, assists employees and managers with NYU PeopleSync Time and Absence system and other NYU HR systems and programs, advises and collaborates with hiring managers and supervisors on recruitment​, hires and onboards​ faculty and staff, conducts new hire orientations,​ ​interprets and communicat​es​ union contract terms, directs​ ​​on-campus ​student employ​ee ​appointment processes, and serves on special ​NYU HR committees. Outside of work, Josh enjoys exploring the City with his son in search of the best New York pizza! He also enjoys attending conventions where he gets to cosplay with his son while meeting their childhood idols.
