There are several opportunities for study abroad for MA students, although participating in a full semester abroad is not an option in this program.
A number of NYU schools offer graduate-level study abroad courses in the summer. Gallatin MA students have taken Steinhardt and Tisch courses abroad in the summer, for example. You can find these courses in the public course search under summer and graduate level or on the websites of these NYU schools.
Note: The following is a sample list of study away opportunities by school. Schools typically give priority to their own students. For more details, please visit each school's site directly for more information.
Past semester examples:
For Non-NYU Study Abroad, please visit the Gallatin Office of Global Programs External Study and non-NYU Study Abroad sites.
You will note that the maximum number of credits allowed for graduate non-NYU Study Abroad is 6 credits.

Gallatin supports student research and offers a number of research scholarships and fellowships that are held abroad. Please see this page for these opportunities, including the Gallatin Global Human Rights Fellowship, and the Global Fellowship in Urban Practice, among others. https://gallatin.nyu.edu/academics/awardsandhonors.html
NYU also offers a number of fellowships for research abroad, particularly the NYU Provost’s Global Research Initiatives. Gallatin MA students in the past have applied to and participated in the GRI's overseas, especially when in the final stages of thesis research and writing.
