As of Fall 2020, some of the information below might have changed. Please see the NYU Global application page for the most up-to-date deadlines and program offererings.
NYU offers semester and year-long study away opportunities for undergraduates at its global locations, and for both undergraduate and graduate students through other NYU schools.
Gallatin undergraduates may study at NYU's global academic centers in Abu Dhabi, Accra, Berlin, Buenos Aires, Florence (La Pietra), London, Los Angeles, Madrid, Paris, Prague, Shanghai, Sydney, Tel Aviv, and Washington, DC. Gallatin offers courses at many of these locations, and internship opportunities are available at most. All courses count for NYU credit, and many are taught by full-time NYU faculty. At some sites, students are permitted to take courses at local universities as well.
Students apply online through Albert, submitting a short statement of purpose. No faculty reference is required. PRIORITY Deadlines: September 15 (Spring) and February 15 (Fall/academic year).
Students are highly encouraged to apply by the priority deadlines, as many sites will fill by these dates. Those who apply by these deadlines will receive an admissions decision from NYU's Office of Global Programs within a month. Students can apply after these dates, but the decision may be delayed and fewer spots may be available.
For more information, visit the NYU Global Programs website.
Other NYU schools offer semester programs in various locations for undergraduate and graduate students. Criteria and deadlines vary.
IMPORTANT: Gallatin students who are considering travel courses and study away programs offered by other NYU schools should review this important information about taking non-Gallatin courses.
