All Gallatin alumni are encouraged to participate as mentors, career contacts, or share their experiences. Mentoring programs provide alumni with the unique opportunity to offer expertise and advice by serving as invaluable resources on topics such as career paths, resumes, course selection, international perspectives, work/life balance during college, and lived experiences.
Traditionally in person, mentoring at Gallatin has temporarily shifted to an online format through virtual Mentorship Meetups. These events facilitate various breakout room sessions with a range of themes and industries, featuring alumni from diverse disciplines and professional pathways. We host virtual Mentorship Meetups for BA students, MA students, as well as with industry- and identity-specific themes in partnership with Gallatin's Alumni Working Groups.
Beyond these mentoring programs, Gallatin also hosts annual events such as the Alumni Internships Panel in partnership with Gallatin's Internship Office, and Marketing Your Gallatin Degree in partnership with Gallatin's Advising Office, to benefit all current students at the School. These programs foster learning through the experience and expertise of alumni, creating stronger bonds among all members of the Gallatin community. They also serve as a platform for practical guidance in a wide variety of disciplines, industries, and interests, reflecting Gallatin's commitment to a supportive and interdisciplinary model.
If you would like to serve as an alumni mentor, please email gallatin.alumni@nyu.edu. You can also connect with current students and fellow alumni through our private Gallatin LinkedIn Group.
