MA Candidate - Sound, Music, and Mixed Media
Rowan Spencer is a musician, writer, and mixed media artist who holds a BA in English from McGill University. Influenced heavily by a childhood spent in California and Ireland, his artistic and academic work explores the storytelling and “place-making” potential of music and sound. Rowan performs and DJs frequently throughout New York City and has exhibited his sound art at the Pratt Manhattan Gallery and in the Gallatin Arts Festival. In 2016, he released his first record, the A Time May Come EP, and is currently working on an album and accompanying sound installation, both called Waterfront, for his thesis project.
