Manny Patole

Manohar ÒMannyÓ Patole is a place-based urban sustainability advocate working  at the intersection of Community Resilience+Economic Development+Applied Research. Currently he is the Co-City Fellow and Project Manager for Co-City Baton Rouge (CCBR),  a multistakeholder approach to economic revitalization through co-governance of public assets in the Plank Road Corridor of Baton Rouge with NYU Marron Institute of Urban Management.  He is also an Adjunct Professor at NYU Tandon School of Engineering's Sustainable Urban Environments and Wagner's Urban Planning programs, Faculty Mentor with NYU Center for Urban Science and Progress, and Co-Director of Critical Voices Project with NYU's Environmental and Racial Justice Network. Outside of NYU he is the Community Engagement SME with Bridging Knowledge to ActionÑUsing Data to Develop Equitable Outcomes or Solutions to Climate Hazards and Other Disasters, a research project to develop an open-source decision support tool for the most appropriate development of VAD properties in high-risk communities, serves on the Municipal Arts Society of NYC Planning Committee and American Planning Association Water and Planning Network Steering Committee. Prior to his current role he served as an Excelsior Fellow with the Office of the Governor of the State of New York as a Data and Policy Analyst with the Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation Division of Planning (2016-18).   He holds a Master of Urban Planning degree from NYU Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and LLm/ME specializing in Water Governance and Conflict Resolution and Water Conflict Management from a joint University of Dundee's Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy & UNESCO's Institute for Water Education program.
