MA Candidate - Crafting Identity in Post-War Germany
After having completed his Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Anthropology at NYU, Maximilian was approached with the opportunity to work on a film project. After spending a year in Ghana and London writing and co-directing The Cursed Ones—a feature film that depicts the contemporary dangers of child witchcraft accusations—Maximilian decided to refocus his career on storytelling. At Gallatin, Maximilian’s academic interests lie in representations of truth and identity in film and creative writing. For his thesis, he is working on a novel of his family’s adapted histories of World War II Germany.
