The Gallatin Graduate Student Organization (GGSO) is the student organization at Gallatin entirely dedicated to Gallatin's masters students, graduate student life at Gallatin, and advocacy for both the student community and graduate degree program. As our organization is dedicated to serving Gallatin masters students, we primarily work to build community among graduate students through social engagement. We work to organize a number of events spanning topics and interest with the intent to bring the Gallatin masters community together.
Some of the events we have offered to the Gallatin MA Program include, but is not limited to: group study hours, grants writing workshops, career-focused workshops, alumni-student mentor programs, purely social happy hours at local venues, excursions to Broadway shows, and more. We have also hosted a volunteering series with New Alternatives LGBT advocacy group, peer networking events with the career services center, writing retreats, and even a writer's workshop dedicated to graduate students.
The GGSO is run by the two Student Life Graduate Assistants (GAs), but we are always looking for more involvement from anybody in the Gallatin MA Program that would be interested in helping build the Gallatin MA community. The GAs who run GGSO have an office space located on the 5th floor of the Gallatin Building (1 Washington Place, New York, NY 10003) in room 528. Stop by to get to know us, to learn how to get involved, and get some treats and Gallatin MA swag!
