The low-brass trio Thermophily presents a concert of new music by composer James Thornton. Thermophily is a unique ensemble consisting of three middle and low brass players and a composer-in-residence. Formed in 2016 by three long-time New York City friends and professional freelance musicians, the group is dedicated to contemporary brass chamber music and exploring new musical combinations and sounds for horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba and bass trombone. All of their music is original and written especially for the ensemble.
